Conference: The Virtual : designing digital experience. 14-16 Sept 2006

http://m3.sh.se/virtual2006
THE VIRTUAL 2006 : DESIGNING DIGITAL EXPERIENCE
a conference 14th - 16th September 2006

The research programme Man Medium Machine [M3] and the School of
Communication, Technology & Design at Södertörn university college,
invites to a three-day conference on the theme “The Virtual –
designing digital experience”.

The conference will be held at Rosenön conference centre, in the
archipelago of Haninge, south of Stockholm.

theme of conference
How are we Designing digital experience? How does digital experience
affect us? For whom do we design the digital experiences? And, what
is this practice, called interaction design? These kinds of questions
are the main theme for the keynote lectures of the Virtual conference
2006.

Digital experience will then be discussed in four different themes,
running in parallel sessions throughout the conference. These themes
will include paper presentations, and will be introduced by an
invited moderator. The conference will close with a panel debate.

What is digital experience? We think it can be understood in at least
two different ways: We do experience a wide range of expressions
mediated by digital media. And also, our experiencing of the world we
live in, have become dependent upon digital medias. This leads to two
different, but highly intertwined, questions: How to understand
different kinds of digital expressions? And, what is it to experience
by way of media extensions? Therefore, these four themes:

themes
theme a – Gaming experience
theme b – Interactive experience
theme c – Knowledge experience
theme d – Human experience
