Conference in Stockholm May 21-24, 2007

Work With Computing Systems
is a series of conferences the first of which was organized in
Stockholm twenty years ago, the most recent one took place in 2004 in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. May 21-24 in 2007 it is Stockholm’s turn
again. The conference is initiated by the technical subcommittee WWCS
within the International Ergonomics Association - IEA.

Themes
The overall theme is Computing systems for human benefits.

The three main subthemes are:
- Healthy and efficient work with computing systems
- Computing systems for mobile and non-mobile work
- Computing systems for everyone and in specific areas.
Emphasis on: Work with computing systems - not leisure use: User
health, well-being, competence and productivity with special
reference to gender aspects; Interaction between theory and practice.

The conference is organized by institutions representing both
research and practice who will each arrange sessions on practical
issues of work with computing systems. Thematic sessions as well as
paper based sessions, both oral and poster, will be organized as well
as post-conference site-visits, seminars and workshops. The main
organizers are the Swedish National Institute for Working Life - niwl
(Arbetslivsinstitutet), and the Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems
- vinnova. Co-organizers are Swedish work environment and labour
market authorities and labour union confederations
